The New Music Economy
Over the next 13 minutes I am going to share a really cool business model with you. It comes from the Information Publishing and Internet Marketing communities and has proven to make and create great businesses for countless people.
It is the way that I am launching my businesses from Label 2.0 to the Under 30 Rock Stars and is the same model we are using for a handful of indie bands that have committed to taking their careers to the next level.
This video was created for my Label 2.0 students, but I felt it was something that you needed to see if you were going to succeed in the next year in the music industry!
The strategies take time to develop, require the band to do a lot of leg work, but in the end they can establish themselves as a real business, a brandable asset that allows them to make money doing the thing they love most, making sweet music!
Let me know what you think of the video by shooting an email to marketing@genyrockstars.com. We will feature some of your comments under the video and send links back to your music. If you try out any of these strategies, tell us your story and we will feature your band on a post at Gen-Y Rock Stars, a leading music industry and music marketing site read by hundreds of bands and industry types daily including the likes of Warner Bros, ReverbNation, World Around Records and many more.
The New Music Business Economy
If you liked the ideas and principles in this video and want step by step instructions on how to build better relationships with your fans and create a long term business model for your music, please check out Label 2.0. It is simply the best music marketing tools and tactics ever taught to indie musicians (but then again I’m bias, since I teach there).

Hey Greg, you pegged it, man!
This is definitely a working plan for any artist 2 fan business model. I regularly attempt to explain the squeeze page to artists, along with the importance of using outlying social networks to funnel potential buyers, but you have laid it out in black & white. I have just become the metal community Label 2.0 advocate!
Let’s do lunch ;)~
I’m 5:49 into the video and love what you’re teaching!
