About Music Marketer Greg Rollett

An outspoken member of Generation-Y, Greg Rollett has been working to change the way marketing is performed, delivered and analyzed for audiences all over the world. A former touring musician, engineer and producer, Greg has deep roots in the music industry and collected a resume that includes performances with Daughtry, Buckcherry, Bubba Sparxxx, Sevendust, Jesse McCartney, O-Town, Nina Sky and countless others. He has worked in the studio with legends like Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony and worked behind the scenes for many labels, managers, agents and venues.

When his music career came to an end, it was the beginning of an opportunity. An offspring of online promotions for his own music endeavors, Greg came from the school of MP3.com, Soundclick and Myspace, developing a brand and recognition for himself in a time when many considered it a hobby. By chance he wound up at an Internet Marketing seminar and the keys to the city were hand delivered. First diving into eCommerce, organic SEO and Overture paid search, Greg soaked in knowledge that would fuel his future endeavors.

Rollett Marketing was founded in January 2007 to support his own sites as well as a budding online consulting company. Through organic search, well-timed blog posts and a few missed phone calls. Greg was asked to lead a consulting program for the ad agency driving Coca-Cola’s new wave of marketing directed at youth culture, with a focus on music and its connection. These projects lead to working with Miller Lite on a similar campaign. Following these 2 campaigns, Greg has worked behind the scenes with the likes of Warner Brothers, chart-topping rock outfit State of Man, online mastering pioneer SoundOps and countless other indie bands and brands.

Through his time working with major brands, there was always a desire to get back into the music industry that helped create the brand he now faced himself with. Gen-Y Rock Stars was that brand. Developed as a blog and business for indie musicians to explore online tools and communication to develop their brand, a voice had been created in the indie music scene. From speaking at world-renowned music conferences like the Atlantis Music Festival and the Florida Music Festival, Greg developed a niche following of bands, singer-songwriters and social entrepreneurs tapping into his vision. He release the acclaimed 100 Social Media Resources for Musicians that was covered on countless music blogs and was hailed as “the most comprehensive, most needed indie music resource guide on Social Networks.” (Madalyn Sklar – GoGirlsMusic.com)

Utilizing Rollett Marketing as an umbrella brand, Greg has created multiple outlets to speak to his audience. From the indie musician on Gen-Y Rock Stars, to Label 2.0 – a Marketing School for Musicians, founded with Eric Hebert of Evolvor, to Rock Star Lifestyle Design, a site built to help 20somethings find direction and build a brand through Internet Marketing, Greg is now living like a rock star and helping others live the rock star lifestyle.
