@Justin - Please note that I wasn&#039;t putting down the New Music Seminar, as it did provide many opportunities to talk with other attendees, and debate about the future of the music biz. I do enjoy that ;-) 

I admit that I always attend these events with an eye toward the DIY Musician, but I think that indie musicians did come away with some food for thought, even if the event did have Major Label presence.

What&#039;s MOST important, in my opinion, is that you simply take action and do the work involved in building your own fanbase, whether or not you are on a major label.
