I do enjoy that ;-) I admit that I always attend these events with an eye toward the DIY Musician, but I think that indie musicians did come away with some food for thought, even if the event did have Major Label presence. What's MOST important, in my opinion, is that you simply take action and do the work involved in building your own fanbase, whether or not you are on a major label. I admit that I always attend these events with an eye toward the DIY Musician, but I think that indie musicians did come away with some food for thought, even if the event did have Major Label presence.

This article made the NMS sound like a downright comical waste of time and money. 15 minutes on Music Think Tank (or this blog right here, for that matter) would have imparted the exact same lessons.
