BandWPThemes In Action – A Music Site In 12 Minutes

Update: BandWPThemes is now live. You can grab the Indie version for $27 and the Platinum version for $37. Learn more here.

Wordpress For Musicians and BandsAll week we have been showing you why WordPress rocks as a platform and why you should be blogging. Today we get into the nitty gritty and utilize BandWPThemes to create your site in like 12 minutes. In the video below I make a site for my retired-white-rapper-alter-ego. I start from installing WordPress, installing the theme and getting the basics of the site up including adding your email code, analytics, Twitter, header and more.

This is really cool stuff. You also get to see what BandWPThemes looks like. You can test drive the site I built here: http://g-ro.info.

Remember that BandWPThemes goes live on Monday, June 7th. If you are interested in seeing what we have under the hood (and it’s a lot more than just a theme), then you may want to join the mailing list below. It’s pretty friggin rad.

Tweaking The Theme

In this second video I show some of the other cool stuff you can do with your theme. In about 15 minutes I have integrated Flickr, Facebook, added an about page, a store and a blog post.

So in less than 30 minutes I have created what is essentially a fully-functional site. And this is just scratching the surface of what the WordPress Platform and BandWPThemes can do.

Ok, enough from me, what about you? What do you like, not like, want to know more about, etc? Hit us up in the comments below. We will be getting back to everyone throughout the weekend.

Look for Monday’s post with all the launch details (if you are on that super duper cool email list, you will know the whole shabang sometime on Sunday).

P.S. Here is a screenshot of the theme in action (g-ro.info).

The theme looks good. Clean style and impressive backend with the email/analytics stuff. Just a few questions

    1. How much?
    2. Can we use fan bridge instead of Aweber?

I cant wait. Makes me wanna revamp my site. it looks easy to keep updated which is important for me.
How do I get rid of the site that i already have though thats my question. will it be tough to delete the word press and just fresh install everything? also where will my data go(not that its particularily interesting :P ?

@DJ YS – thanks and here are some answers

    1. If I told you the price that would ruin all this marketing hype. I will say it will be very affordable during the initial launch.

    2. Yes and no. It ill not look as sleek, but you can insert the fanbridge form into the sidebar. There will be videos to help you with that.

@ADAMHOEK – sweet man. That was our goal. To answer your question, all your content will stay within WordPress, you won’t lose any data. The only thing that will change is the skin/layout. You can adjust the things you already have in there and you should be all set.

It’s a pretty seamless transition. You will have to enter in some new information and ensure everything looks the way “it’s supposed to!”
