Why No One Comes to Your Shows

Last night, the Gen-Y Rock Stars team was out in the streets of Orlando working some shows and supporting some of our friends and indie bands that were in town. The show ended up selling out, the fns went nuts and our friends made some good money to get them to their next location.

I decided to step into the show at the bar next door and noticed the opposite, there were bartenders, security, a few band members’ girlfriends and the bands themselves. What made the difference in these shows?

Fan communication. It’s a term that we are going to be pushing on you guys hard over the next few weeks and it is the theme of the video below that I shot this morning at the crack of dawn to highlight some of the ideas in fan communication as it applies to music marketing.

How to Get More Fans at Your Live Show from Greg Rollett on Vimeo.

What do you guys think? Here is your homework…

Tonight or tomorrow or whenever you go to your next show, as a fan, ask yourself why you decided to get off the couch, put away the computer, get dressed, hit the ATM, gas station, parking garage, pay cover and check out a band. That answer is just the beginning.

Have a great weekend Rock Stars!

Outrageously well done! Saving this to add to a blog post on the subject. (Haven’t learned trackbacks yet, so will post link w/blurb)
